Romance is Boring
Title: Romance is Boring
Fandom: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Vento Aureo
Character(s): Ghiaccio, Melone
Pairing(s): Melone/Ghiaccio
Genre: Humor
Word Count: 555
Rating: PG-15
Warnings: None
Summary: Ghiaccio takes Melone by surprise, and Melone has a bit of a confession to make.
Notes: So yeah, I said lumps of five, but that was before the kink meme slowed down (GO WRITE FOR THE KINK MEME) so now it's 'lumps of however many I feel like'. This is one of two.
Melone likes many things about Ghiaccio, much more than he dislikes about him.
He’s certainly intelligent. He takes no guff from anybody else, a quality that Melone enjoys. He’s skilled at what he does, which is kill people. He’s very, very fun to tease.
That he’s a perpetual grump with a poor sense of volume control is the trade-off, but no one is perfect. Not even assassins.
Ghiaccio likes almost as much about Melone as drives him up the wall.
He’s well-read, cultured, and fluent in three languages. Very little upsets him for very long, a trait Ghiaccio does not have and sometimes envies. His confidence in himself is actually well-placed.
Of course, he talks too much and has little respect for personal boundaries, but Ghiaccio would still take him over anyone not in their squad any day.
With both of them fond of each other (even if one will only rarely admit it), it’s only natural that this day would eventually come.
Melone is halfway draped over Ghiaccio’s shoulder, peering down at the book he’s reading. “Verne again? You’ve read half his bibliography by now, I’m sure.”
Ghiaccio shuts his book. “Do you mind?”
“Not at all!” says Melone, with a bright smile. “You should know by now I don’t mind being as close to you as you’ll let me. Of course, if we were closer still, I’m sure we’d both enjoy that…”
Grumbling, Ghiaccio sets his book to one side. “Fine.”
Melone lifts his head off of Ghiaccio’s shoulder. “...I’m sorry?”
“I said fine. Let’s do it.” Ghiaccio turns to look at him properly, and notices that his face is red. “Or do you just say that kind of stuff to piss me off?”
“No, no, that’s not it! I’m completely serious!” Melone hesitates, then adds, “I might not have expected you to ever say yes… and this is hardly romantic...”
Ghiaccio rolls his eyes and leans in to kiss him. They’ve done this much before, of course, but nothing further. Melone responds as eagerly as usual, wrapping his arms around Ghiaccio’s shoulders as he deepens the kiss. So far, so good.
When Melone reaches for the buttons of Ghiaccio’s jacket, Ghiaccio notices another thing, and can’t help but break the kiss in order to complain about it. “You’re nervous.”
Melone’s instant reply is, “No, I’m not.”
“Your hands are shaking.” Melone doesn’t have an answer, and Ghiaccio raises an eyebrow. “Why are you the nervous one? You’re the one who’s done this before.”
“...About that.” Melone coughs and looks away. “I, ah, I haven’t actually done this with anyone else, either.”
Ghiaccio stares, long enough to make Melone even more uncomfortable, then breaks into raucous laughter.
“Nothing is funny about it!” Melone smacks him on the head, but it just makes him laugh harder.
“Are- are you serious, that’s hilarious- I have to tell everyone,” says Ghiaccio, trying to catch his breath. “That’s the funniest thing I’ve heard in weeks!”
“If you tell anyone, I will never touch you again.” Melone folds his arms across his chest.
Ghiaccio snorts. “You’ll take that back by tomorrow. You can’t keep your hands off me.”
“That’s true. Please don’t embarrass me?” Melone asks.
“...Fine. But you owe me for this.”
“I can think of plenty~ of ways to make it up to you...”
