He had not been able to help it.

At first, he’d been worried that they had all made a terrible decision. Yukako and Rohan fought over everything, over who got to kiss him first, who was able to touch him, who could make him moan the loudest. They did not touch each other except by accident.

He’d been worried, and they picked up on that and tried to soothe him, but it was hard to calm him down and argue with each other at the same time. If given the choice between sniping at Yukako and letting Koichi fully relax, Rohan would choose to make a bitter remark every time, and Yukako was the same.

The same. Koichi hadn’t really thought of them like that. For all their possessive behavior, they had many differences in personality, ones that Koichi appreciated. Even here, in Rohan’s bedroom, Koichi could tell- Rohan was always “I can make him happier, he’s mine,” and Yukako was always “he deserves better, he should have the best.” They wanted the same person, but they framed it different ways. Similar, but different.

If they had been the same, choosing between them would have been a simple matter of a coin toss or a game of rock paper scissors. They were different people, and that was why Koichi had been unable to decide which he loved more.

He had not been able to help it, though it made no sense. He burst into laughter, bent over with the force of it.

Rohan and Yukako stopped arguing to stare at him blankly. “Koichi…?” Yukako asked, concern in her voice.

“Sorry, it’s just-” Koichi’s laughter faded into a few chuckles as he straightened up. “I just remembered why I love you both so much.”

“And that makes you laugh,” said Rohan, eyebrows raised.

“Well, if it made me cry, something would be wrong.” Koichi slipped his arms around both of them. “Can we try that again? With less arguing, this time.”

Yukako leaned into Koichi’s hold. “Of course we can. I’m sorry if we upset you.”

“Only if you insist, I could possibly make the effort.” Despite his tone, Rohan’s smile seemed more genuine than most Koichi had seen on him.

Koichi preferred when they worked in tandem rather than competed with each other. It was more pleasurable for him, and he suspected better for them as well. Of course, he did his best to make sure both of them were happy by the time they were through.

Rohan’s bed was too large for one person and perhaps a little too small for three. Koichi laid in between his two lovers, content for the moment.

“Where’s the shower?” Yukako asked, sounding tired.

Rohan gestured with one arm, holding Koichi loosely with the other. “One door down that hallway. You can use it first.”

“Thank you.”

Koichi decided not to thank them out loud for having a civil conversation. They might not have realized they were being polite to each other yet, and he didn’t want to spoil that.
