As far as my research shows, the real Chuuya was agnostic; the real Dazai had an interest in Christian imagery but was not Christian himself; the real Akutagawa considered religion and literature basically the same thing. (The BSD Akutagawa gets annoyed in the novels when another group causes destruction at an art museum.)
