Certainly, that Rider had no will of its own.
Even a fictional Servant has an identity. But this Rider could not claim even that. It was a phenomenon, a curse given form, but never a ‘being’. A Servant is shaped by the stories around them, but all it was ever given in those stories was a shape and a name. Not desires, not feelings, not personality.
Summoned as a Servant, it gained a purpose in fulfilling its Master’s wish. But what that girl wished for most sincerely was to be loved, and so Rider became something that could love her.
