Summary: Ritsuka talks about the last time she thought about entering a relationship.
Notes:
"I've thought about it before," Ritsuka admits, sitting on her bed with her knees pulled up to her chest. "Getting into a relationship after things settle down."
Beside her, Habetrot's eyes light up. "I knew it! You've got too much bride power to go to waste!"
Ritsuka cracks a smile, but it fades quickly. "The guy I liked… I knew he liked me too, we just couldn't have dated during the Incineration of Humanity for a bunch of different reasons. But I had a whole plan for how it'd happen, as soon as things were fixed. I was going to take him on a Rayshift date to my favorite Okeanos island. He used to talk about being jealous of me visiting all these beautiful places while he was stuck in Chaldea's base, he would've loved it."
"Destination weddings are fun, I'm sure destination dates are too," says Habetrot. "So? What happened?"
"He died. Sacrificed himself for humanity… and for me." Ritsuka breathes in deeply. "I know I need to move on, but… I can't imagine being a bride if he isn't the groom. I'm sorry."
"You never, ever have to apologize for grieving, Ritsuka." Habetrot wiggles her way into Ritsuka's space to hug her as tightly as her tiny arms allow, and Ritsuka wraps her arms around her in turn. "Grooms aren't my department, but I'm sure he would've been a wonderful groom for you."
