Summary: Oryou plays with the child Servants for a bit, and Ryouma is wistful.
Notes:

Oryou is almost always by Ryouma's side, but sometimes when Ryouma is with Izou, she lets them have some privacy. She likes Izou well enough, but they don't get along very well, and Izou is even more wary about letting the tiniest bit of vulnerability show when she's there. Since she doesn't have many other friends in Chaldea, she wanders about at random until she encounters something interesting.

Today, she is arm wrestling with Bunyan when Ryouma finds her again. Bunyan isn't strong enough to beat her when going all-out, but she's strong enough that it isn't obvious Oryou isn't using her full strength.

"Oh, Oryou lost," Oryou says, smiling. "Good job."

Bunyan beams. "It was close! You're really good at this."

"We knew you would win!" says Jack. "Bunyan is the strongest!"

"Thank you for playing with us, Miss Oryou," Nursery Rhyme says.

Oryou pats each of them on the head, before floating over to Ryouma. "All done?"

"I think Izou's sick of me, at least for today," he replies. "But if you were enjoying yourself, don't stop on my account." There's a softness in his eyes that Oryou knows him well enough to make a guess at.

"Oryou's ready to go." She starts on ahead of him so that he has to follow after. Only once they're out of the earshot of the child Servants does she speak again. "Ryouma, you're thinking something sad, aren't you?"

"No, not sad, exactly. I was just thinking… that you're good with children, Oryou."

"…Oryou is good at many things."

But this is different. It's different now than when they last spoke about it, curled up in a Kagoshima inn. At that time, neither of them had known if they could have children together, and had ultimately decided to think about it again when times were peaceful and they could devote themselves to raising a possible family: now they know for certain that they can't.

Oryou takes Ryouma's hand and squeezes it. "Oryou is happy here, like this, just with you. If she had a child before, then she would miss them. So it's good that she didn't."

"You're right." He intertwines their fingers. "I'm happy too, the way things are."

"…If Oryou knew that losing at arm wrestling would make you sad, she would've beaten all three of them at once."

"Please don't do that?"
