Kama was reincarnated as Pradyumna, son of Krishna. Krishna is an avatar of Vishnu. Rama is also an avatar of Vishnu. Therefore, Kama is his child as well.

“Absolutely not,” says Kama, arms folded. “I might not hate Vishnu like I hate Shiva, but I’m not exactly his biggest fan either. There’s no way I want to play house with you.”

Why Kama’s chosen their child form for this conversation if they don’t want him to feel parental is beyond him. “Oh, I see. I guess I’ll give this banana split to Master instead.”

“Wait-!” Kama snatches the dessert off the table. “This doesn’t mean anything except that I like sweets, understand?”

“Of course it doesn’t, my chotu.” Rama ruffles their hair, and they grumble but don’t try to stop him.
