Notes:

Lord Blackbeard continues to be full of surprises.

He finds Lanling in the hallway a few days later and asks with sparkling eyes, "Hey, Prince of Bishies! Wanna hang out?"

Lanling is uncertain what a bishie is, but he does know that he much prefers the direct approach than following him around all day. "I would be happy to, Lord Blackbeard."

When invited to spend time with another Servant, it typically involves either tea or a spar. Blackbeard pulls out a DVD - "I'm still a pirate, heart and soul, but it's important to support the companies or they'll stop making stuff to pirate, you know?" - and plays an anime about a girl trying to confess to the boy she likes and accidentally becoming his assistant at making manga instead. Some of the jokes go over Lanling's head, but what he does get makes him smile, and the cast members are all instantly endearing.

Twelve episodes pass before they know it, and Lanling finds himself expressing frustration - "He misunderstands again? That moment beneath the fireworks was perfect for confessing her love…!"

"I know, right! They were so close!" Blackbeard shuts his laptop. "But the manga's still going, so they couldn't wrap things up there in case they ever get the green light for a season two."

"I suppose that is true." Lanling will have to find volumes of the manga on his own time, now that he's invested in the characters. "Thank you for sharing your interests with me, Lord Blackbeard. I would like to repay the courtesy, but I fear you would not find the poetry I read enjoyable…"

"My guy," Blackbeard says, very seriously. "I would listen to you read the phone book."

He finds himself smiling despite himself. "In that case, I look forward to 'hanging out' again."
