Lira is in love with love.

She breathes it in, the pink-hued breeze that fills her lungs with adoration. Her heart flutters with every smile, every passing glance. She stuffs her mind full of everything there is to know about this boy.

And then the feeling fades, and she moves on before she can grow to find their time together boring. Normal, just like with anyone else.

Today she says, "I love you," eyes dark, cheeks flushed-

-and Nanakusa Nazuna stares at her like she doesn't understand the words coming out of her mouth. "I'm not Kou??"

"I know." Lira is good at telling people apart, because she remembers small details; even if she wasn't, she thinks it'd be hard to mistake Nazuna for Kou. "I'm in love with you, Nazuna-chan."

Nazuna, beautiful, mysterious Nazuna who says what she wants and doesn't care what anyone else thinks of her, turns a brilliant shade of red and shrieks. "You can't just say that stuff! Who just walks up to somebody and tells them that they l-l-lo…!"

"Love," Lira says helpfully.

"That! That thing!" Nazuna huffs. "Besides, you don't really. You have a crush that'll go away in a week, that's different."

"Love doesn't have to last forever to be real. I can prove it." Lira tugs down the collar of her dress, showing her skin.

Nazuna swallows, gaze darting to Lira's bare neck, then backs up a step. "Wait, wait, wait. You want me to bite you? That won't do anything because you're not - the thing you say you are - but if somehow you were, becoming a vampire is something you can't just take back when you get bored of it, you know? What will you say to your friends? Your parents?"

Lira thinks it over for all of a second, then takes a step forward. "I'll tell them I became a vampire for love."

"…I don't know what I expected. Still! There's no way I'll-"

Lira sticks her finger in Nazuna's mouth while she's talking and catches it on a fang. It stings, not quite as bad as Lira expected, and blood starts to flow.

"?!?!?!" There's really nothing Nazuna can do at this point but suck up the blood. Her expression changes from confusion to shock to contentment as she slurps noisily.

"How is it?" Lira asks, breathless.

Her finger slips from between Nazuna's lips with a pop. "You're so, so stupid. And delicious."
