There is exactly one moment, an instant between the Apollyons appearing and them failing to answer him, where Dahn is overjoyed.

He is proud, yes. Thrilled by the power in his hands, yes. Of course he is, he's King Abaddon now, who wouldn't be thrilled?

But mostly, he's elated that he will finally, finally save his sister. This is it. Akane won't have anything to fear now. She won't have to accept every hardship and maltreatment that comes to her now. Everything he's done has come to this.

Then another moment passes and everything he's done goes straight to hell.
